FedEx Pilots’ Post-Medicare Retiree Health Plan

Premium Reimbursement Plan (PRP)

The PRP is sponsored by the Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA) pursuant to the Collective Bargaining Agreement between FedEx Corporation and ALPA. It reimburses you and/or your eligible spouse each up to $1,344 in 2011 for premium payments you make during the year to an acceptable Medicare health plan.

In order to participate in the PRP and receive reimbursement for health care premiums, you must be 65 years old and enrolled in the following by the later of January 1, 2008 or the first day of the month in which you turn age 65:

  1. Medicare Part B

  2. A Medicare Supplement Policy, a Medicare Advantage Plan, and/or a Medicare Part D (prescription drug) policy, or Tricare if you are retired military.

Additionally, you must:

  1. Complete and return the PRP Election Form within 120 days of the later of your birthday or retirement date. You will receive an enrollment packet directly from Optum Health Financial Services, our Third Party Administrator, about 4 months prior to your 65th birthday. If you work past age 65, you will not receive an enrollment packet until FedEx certifies to the Plan that you have retired; this usually takes about a month, so if you work past age 65 it is likely you will not receive an enrollment packet until a month or two after you retire. If you are past these guidelines, please call the contact number below.

  2. Complete and return a claim form. You will receive a welcome kit, including a claim form, within a few weeks of your returning the completed enrollment form. Please note, you must submit a claim form each year.
