New Layover Gouge Website

New Layover Gouge Website!

Starting today, when you log on at http://fdx.alpa.org, then go to the Pilot Services tab and select Layover Gouge, you will be taken to our FedEx Pilot Layover Gouge website (you can also select the Layover Gouge icon on the Positive Rate Weekly). This site will hopefully be a lasting repository of information related to each of our layover cities. When you get to the site and select Layover Cities, you will be taken to a master list of city identifiers. Select the city you want to view, and you will be taken to that city page (you can also add a new city on this page). Once there by selecting “Add Information,” you can enter your own information to the database and share your knowledge with your fellow pilots. The "Add Information" form requires you to select the city, the category and sub category appropriate to the information you are adding. You can also enter the address (most languages will work) and place a pin precisely on the city’s associated Google map. Below the map you can enter a description to accompany your entry. There are several categories including restaurants, bars, local points of interest, transportation information, and several other categories. Each category creates a separate icon on the map. By clicking on the map icon, then the name that is displayed, you will be taken to the entry. If you would like to change or add to the entry, select “contribute” from the left hand column, then make your changes, and save.

FO Chris Wright designed this site, so please thank Chris when you next see him. Members of the P2P Committee have worked to provide the information that is currently available, as well as beta test the site. We hope you will add your knowledge to the database and make this a useful site for us all. Please be respectful of others and refrain from inappropriate entries. Thanks for helping us help you!
