Council 7/Block 8 Message - February 13, 2012 I apologize up front for even sending this message. It is not my intent to drag out the spectacle that has come to resemble union business. However, I feel that there are a couple of issues brought up in recent LEC messages that I need to clarify. I can promise you that this will be a short message and I will get straight to the point.

Council 7/Block 8 Message
February 13, 2012
To the Pilots of Council 7,
I apologize up front for even sending this message. It is not my intent to drag
out the spectacle that has come to resemble union business. However, I feel that
there are a couple of issues brought up in recent LEC messages that I need to
clarify. I can promise you that this will be a short message and I will get
straight to the point.
Block 1 and 4 Message, dated Feb 8th
- The timeline laid out in the first two paragraphs is incorrect. The e-mail
requesting the recall motion be placed on the agenda was sent and received on
January 5th. This occurred a full 2 weeks prior to the Jan 20th
message.
Block 1 and 4 Message, dated Feb 3rd
- I have not afforded either the Chairman or the Vice-Chairman the privilege of
speaking on my behalf. Therefore, I do not feel it was appropriate for them to
say “some of the candid communications we have put out have made him feel
uncomfortable.” The truth of the matter is that I did not agree with either the
tone or the content of the 3 messages I was given to review (prior to Jan 20th
message). There was no feeling of being “uncomfortable” with their allegedly
“candid communications.”
The Feb 3rd message goes on to say that “He has declined our offers
of inclusion.” I have not been given the opportunity to review the last 4
messages sent out nor was there an offer of inclusion. I feel the paragraph in
question didn’t clearly portray the events as they occurred.
Thank you for taking the time to consider this message. I appreciate you all
being engaged and staying informed. I would ask that all of you show up next
week and make your voices heard, no matter which way you think this situation
should be resolved.
Thank you,
Lloyd Ballard
