Through the Ongoing Implementation Measures (OIM) in the FDA LOA and after many months of discussions, we have reached agreement pertaining to the Early Exit transition footprint for FDA based pilots. The OIM provides the following for pilots who bid a Secondary Line for the bid period in which they desire to exit the FDA:
  • Provides for an exit footprint between 7 and 10 days versus the current 7 days
  • Provides for a guarantee that the pilot who bids a secondary line, will be awarded one, even if unable to hold based on seniority
  • Provides a guarantee that the pilot will receive the identified footprint requested subject to certain conditions and no longer subject to Fleet Captain approval or involvement
  • Provides for remedial procedures in the event that the pilot does not identify a footprint in a timely fashion
The OIM does not impact the rights of a pilot who elects to not bid a Secondary Line for the bid period of his or her exit.

We appreciate the input from the FDA Block Representatives as well as the willingness and cooperation of FedEx Management to engage with the Negotiating Committee on this important issue.
