Tundra Tidbits - 9/12/19

Hello Fellow Far North Flyers,
The summer is rapidly coming to an end and Todd, George and I hope you all had a memorable one. It was good to see such a large turnout at the Family Awareness picnic last month. Once again, I offer a huge "thank you" to Rick and Martha Carver for organizing and to Chuck and Vicky Ramage for hosting the event! I’m looking forward to next year!
I apologize for the late notice, but the Benefits and Retirement Seminar this year will be held on Wednesday, October 16th from 0830-1700 (venue to be confirmed, but more than likely the Captain Cook Hotel), with individual retirement sessions at the Charles Schwab office in downtown Anchorage the following day. Our next local council meeting will be on Friday, October 18th at 1400 at the Matanuska Brewing Company Pub House in Eagle River. Again, sorry for the late announcement. I promise to do better next year.
On a different note, we are fast approaching Section 6 contract openers in 2021. ALPA is made up of a few hundred professional staff and we are fortunate to have 17 dedicated staff members at our FDX MEC, but it is also important that we have our union pilot volunteers and now is the time to get involved. The more focused, driven and unified we are, the better our next contract will be! Speaking of volunteers, we are in need of volunteers for the P2P and Mentorship programs in Anchorage. Please contact Todd, George or me if you’re able to give a few hours of your time.
Be safe out there!
Bob, Todd and George
