LEC 100 Update

Are You Survey’d Out Yet?

Despite it being the Holiday Season, from the e-mails that you’ve been receiving you might think that Survey Claus has visited you. Earlier in the fall there was the Scheduling Survey; we just finished the Negotiation Survey; and now the Company has a Culture Survey.

Thanks to everyone who recently participated in the Negotiation Survey. A last minute push by our pilots placed us atop the participation rankings, besting the ANC folks by 3%. Our final numbers were 118 of 198, so just under 60%. While I’m certainly encouraged by our pilots leading the pack, I’d hoped for a better turnout fleet-wide. Keep in mind, the ANC folks were stunned by being in second place, so they’ll be gunning for us next time.

FedEx Culture Survey: Many folks have asked me what they think FedEx’s motivations are with this survey. Honestly, I have no idea. It does remind me of a lesson learned back in High School -- whenever a country has a regime change, the newly empowered party will often ask folks to report for ‘Political Re-Education.’  That’s usually where the educated and opinionated among the population are identified and slaughtered.

If you have already taken the survey, you can just send an e-mail to Jennifer Glaeser JGlaeser@springforsuccess.com from your FedEx e-mail and ask her to reset your survey. This allows you to re-enter your answers if you wish to update them, or to not complete the survey, if you desire not to participate.

Please refer back to December 6th’s Positive Rate Weekly which contained a message from the SPSC. I won’t reprint the entire message, but here was the conclusion:

Therefore, the SPSC advises you of your "Miranda Rights:"

1.   You have the right to remain silent.

2.   Anything you say, can and will be used against us at the Negotiating Table.

3.   You have the right to a Negotiating Committee.

Despite all of the surveys, there is plenty to keep you busy this Holiday Season:

·         Pilots for Kids is getting ready to wrap and distribute their goodies.

·         Frank Svensson is in charge of getting Sheree Weber her annual Christmas card from our pilots.

·         Last, but not least, it’s Peak.

Fly safely and have a great December!

In Unity,

Tony Miller
