The Tundra Tidbits
16 JUNE 17

Hello fellow Far North Flyers,

It has been a very busy week here in Memphis—I'll report back later on that.

Do you have plans for Father’s Day? If not, please consider taking dad and the rest of the family for a Father’s Day lunch, (on the union’s dime), to the 49th State Brew Company (717 West 3rd Avenue, Anchorage). Of course, while you’re there, take in an ALPA retirement seminar being hosted by Captain Ken Binder and Ms. Brandy Hough. The seminars are being held at 1100-1400 and 1500-1800 and there is no need to register.

Mark your calendars: August 19th will be our annual Family Awareness Picnic. We are trying to get the same venue as last year—standby for more information.

On another note, it has been brought to our attention that “some” schedulers are trying to give Domestic rest period time perimeters after a Reserve assignment pilot has blocked into Anchorage.

The moral of the story is to know and understand your CBA. If you are blocking into ANC after a trip that exceeds 120 hours TAFB, you are entitled to 48 hours duty free. On trips shorter than that, there are multiple options. Please refer to CBA Sec.12.D.7 for those rest period requirements.

Be safe out there,

Bob, Todd and TJ
