FedEx Pilots Post-Medicare Retiree Premium Reimbursement Plan (PRP)

The PRP is sponsored by the ALPA pursuant to the Collective Bargaining Agreement between FedEx Corporation and ALPA. It reimburses eligible retirees and their spouses for premium payments made during the year to Qualified Health Plan including: Medicare Part B; Medicare Part C; Medicare Advantage; Medicare Supplement, Medicare Part D – Rx Drug Plan; and Tricare 4 Life. The monthly maximum premium reimbursement is updated annually, the monthly maximum premium benefit for 2024 is $140.

When to expect to receive plan information:

A Welcome Kit will be sent by the PRP Administration Office separately to pilot and spouse (or other eligible dependent) about 3 months prior to the individual’s 65th birthday.

If a pilot works up to the month the pilot turns 65 and provides a retirement notice less than 90 days prior to the retirement date, then the welcome packet will not be mailed until the month after the pilot retired.

You will be enrolled automatically – However, you and your eligible spouse each must complete a verification form with your first claims and you each must complete a claim form each year to receive benefits.

Pilots who retired on or after January 1, 2022

Are eligible if they have performed five years of Permanent Continuous Service as an employee of the Company prior to retirement.

The premium reimbursement maximum amount will be prorated 4% per year of pilot service up to 25 years of service. For example, a pilot with 15 years of service will be eligible for up to 60% of the maximum monthly benefit.

Pilots who retired before November 3, 2015

Must maintain FedEx active or retiree health coverage for themselves and their eligible dependents up to attainment of age 65 to be eligible to participate in the PRP.

Are eligible for premium reimbursement for eligible coverage up to the full monthly benefit amount is $140 per month for 2024 without proration based on years of pilot service.

Pilots who retired on or after November 3, 2015

Are not required to maintain FedEx health coverage for themselves and their eligible dependents up to attainment of age 65 to be eligible to participate, however, must meet the age and service requirements for eligibility for the FedEx Retiree Health Plan for Pilots.

The premium reimbursement maximum amount will be prorated 4% per year of pilot service up to 25 years of service. For example, a pilot with 15 years of service will be eligible for up to 60% of the maximum monthly benefit.

In the event of any discrepancy between any material presented on this website and the FedEx Pilots Post-Medicare Retiree Health Plan (PRP), the terms of the Plan Document will control.
